Description

This is a fool-proof recipe for a delicious Orange Chicken, that even my 8-month cat would snatch.

Ingredients

  • 2

    skinless boneless chicken breast halves
  • 1
    tsp
    orange zest
  • 1⁄2
    c
    orange juice
  • 1
    tbsp
    white wine
  • 1
    tbsp
    brown sugar
  • 1⁄2
    tsp
    mustard
  • 1

    dash ground ginger
  • 1
    tbsp
    cornstarch
  • 1⁄4
    c
    water

Instructions

Methode:

  1. Heat oven to 180 C.  Place chicken in small shallow baking dish.
  2. In a small bowl, combine juice, zest, wine, brown sugar, mustard and ginger; pour over chicken.  Bake, covered, for 30 minutes or until tender.  Remove chicken to serving dish, keep warm.
  3. Pour baking juices into a small saucepan. Combine cornstarch and water; add to the juices.
  4. Cook over medium-low heat until it starts to thicken.  Spoon sauce over chicken.  Serve immediately.

Notes

Suggestion:

  • To make the sauce more interesting add a spoon of Orange Marmalade before cornstarch.
  • Serve with rice and pear, peach or mango pieces – after that you won’t need a sweet dessert, but wouldn’t hurt if you had of course… =D
